Staff Selection Commission – Recruitment
Applications are invited from Indian Nationals who fulfill the prescribed qualifications and age etc. for the following Posts in Prasar Bharati, a statutory autonomous body established under the Prasar Bharati (Broadcasting Corporation of India) Act 1990. It is India‘s largest broadcaster and comprises Doordarshan & All India Radio. Staff Selection Commission (SSC), Government of India, will make recruitment to these posts on behalf of the Prasar Bharati under special dispensation given by the Government.
1. Engineering Assistant
No. of Posts : 1290 (UR – 659, OBC – 295, SC – 201, ST – 135, PWD – 37)
Zone wise projected vacancies : North Zone – 512 Posts, North East Zone – 176 Posts, East Zone – 67 Posts, West Zone – 319 Posts, South Zone – 216 Posts.
Qualification : i) Three years Diploma in Radio /Telecommunication /Electrical /Electronics/Information Technology / Electronics and Communication Engineering from a recognized University/Institute with One year experience in the related field OR ii) Degree with Physics as one of the subjects from a recognized University/Institute with One year experience in the related field OR iii) Degree in Telecommunication/Electronics/Electrical/Information Technology/
Electronics and Communication Engineering from a recognized University/Institute.
Age Limit (as on 1st January 2013) : 30 years ; Relaxation as per Government Rules.
Pay Scale : Rs.9300 – 34800/- + Grade Pay Rs.4200/-
No. of Posts : 340 (UR – 181, OBC – 71, SC – 54, ST – 34, PWD – 07, Ex/SM – 35)
Zone wise projected vacancies :North Zone – 140 Posts, North East Zone – 31 Posts, East Zone – 35 Posts, West Zone – 77 Posts, South Zone – 57 Posts.
Qualification : 10+2 / HSC pass with Diploma of at least 2 years duration in Electronics/ Telecommunication Engineering from a recognized University/Institute.
Age Limit (as on 1st January 2013) : 18 – 25 years
Pay Scale : Rs.5200 – 20,200/- + Grade Pay Rs.2400/-
Relaxation in Upper Age Limit : by 5 years for SC/ST Candidates ; By 03 years for OBC Candidates and by 10 years for PWD Candidates.
Selection Procedure : Selection for the post will be based on a Written Examination which will be conducted by Staff Selection Commission.
For Engineering Assistant - Final selection will be on the basis of marks secured by the candidates in Paper I & II ( 200 marks each) and interview (100 marks).
For Technicians - Final selection will be on the basis of marks in Paper-I& II(200 marks each ).
Application fee : Candidates should pay application fee of Rs. 200/- (Rupees Two Hundred) only through State Bank of India (SBI) either in the form of Challan or net banking. Application fee is not required for SC/ST /Ex-Servicemen and PH and all women candidates, subject to submission of Caste/Disability/Discharge Certificate in the prescribed form from Appropriate Authority in support of his/her claim.
How to Apply : Candidates are required to apply ONLINE. On-line application will be complete only if scanned signature and photo are uploaded as per instructions. On completion of Part II registration e-mail will be received by the candidates regarding submission of application on line.
Original certificates along with one set of attested photocopy will be scrutinized/verified to ascertain the eligibility of the candidate for the concerned post either at the time of interview or document verification.
